In the video at the bottom of this page, Hugo R. Falter from EOFS presents Open Lustre -- New Organizations, Trends and Future Developments. Recorded June 17, 2011 at HP-CAST in Hamburg, Germany.

The EOFS (European Open File System) was founded on December 15 th, 2010 in Munich as a Non-Profit organization. The purpose of the European Open File System SCE is the promotion and servicing of the member's needs.

A MoU was signed between the three Open File Initiatives on this years International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg on June 22, in a EOFS breakfast session.

The overall goal is to have a parallel file system for HPC clusters available after ORACLE slashed the support of Lustre.

The message is:

“Lustre is alive and you have the freedom to choose it.”
